Performing a Community Service
By Tristan Miller The Woodbury 4H Club performed the one act play “Cinder-Riley” for the nursing home residents at Woodbury Estates at 11:00 am on Feb. 12, 2012. The cast distributed home-made valentines to audience to begin the show. The Cloverbuds made the simple cards as a community service project to brighten Valentine’s Day for the elderly. In this Irish version of Cinderella, the princess wants to marry the handsome kitchen boy. Katherine Argo directed, and choreography was designed by Britta Bjerke and Emilie Bertram. The cast in order of appearance was: Alex & Riley Miller as Wee & Tiny Leprechauns, Manashree Padiyath as Cinder-Riley, Annika Bjerke as the Wicked Stepmother, Cora Souffrant & Miranda Miller as Aggie & Maggie, the Stepsisters, Tristan Miller as the Leprechaun King, Will Bjerke as Jack O’Clock, Britta Bjerke, Emilie Bertram, Annalise Souffrant as Lead Dancers, and Lucas Bertram as Prop Kid. When the audience came backstage to offer congratulations to the cast, I noted, “It made me feel pretty good. I think they really liked it.” |
